The seventh edition is a continuation of the visual language I have been developing over the past few years. It contains a lot of my commercial work, but I wanted those images to exist alongside the more personal parts of my archive. At this point, I no longer see a strict line between the two. My commissioned work has become an important part of my artistic development, and the way I approach it is constantly changing with me.
I am growing up, and so is my work. With that comes a greater awareness of what I want to say, what I want my images to look like and, perhaps most importantly, why I make them in the first place. Looking through the previous editions, I can clearly see how my photography has changed as I have changed.
This edition also has a different purpose. I decided that all proceeds from the sale of the zine would go towards the development of the Academy of Modern Art run by the KZMRZ Foundation in Lublin — a place that supports artistic development and creates a space for people to learn, experiment and create.
For me, this feels like a small debt repaid. I was lucky enough to have life smile at me quite often when I was growing up. I had people, places and opportunities that helped me become the person I am today. Being able to use something I have built over the years to give something back feels important to me.
Only 100 copies were made. Each one is not only another year of my life printed on paper, but also a small contribution towards helping someone else begin their own creative journey.
