Pracownia Wschodnia, Warsaw
May-June
The project began with the realization of a photographic reportage, followed by the exhibition WAW-SGN.
In January 2024, I traveled to Vietnam, documenting the streets and everyday culture of the country.
"The exhibition presents a street reportage from a three-week journey across Vietnam, from south to north. The photographs were created during long, unhurried walks through cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dalat, and Hanoi. The camera was guided by curiosity—at times bordering on intrusion. The 24mm lens demanded closeness; it sought confrontation.
The title of the exhibition refers to travel as a process of slipping into the daily rhythm of thousands of protagonists—an exchange of hundreds of glances, rarely lasting longer than a few seconds. The flash is provocative; it is my greeting. It evokes interest, smiles, and embarrassment, but also encounters indifference, contemplation, joy, and concern.
Being immersed in the very center of events gave rise to the idea of creating a video art piece—a visual travel diary—which, together with the photographic works, forms an attempt to materialize the fleeting rhythms encountered along the way."
The project was exhibited at Pracownia Wschodnia from April 26 to May 12, 2024.
